Also known as ‘Sweetbriar’ or Shakespeare’s ‘Eglantine Rose’. Very thick and thorny with fragrant, apple-scented foliage, easily growing to 6 feet. Fragrant clear pink blooms in early summer followed by red hips.

We planted this variety in Evanston, Illinois thirty years ago and easily transplanted when we move to Wisconsin. Loved the fragrance. We just ordered another one as I wanted to enjoy it once again.
