This versatile plant may be grown as a medium height climber or a large shrub (8 to 12 feet tall) and is highly fragrant and nearly thornless. The deep rose-pink, semi-double blooms repeat all season and are large and abundant. Disease resistant foliage is dark red when young, maturing to semi-glossy medium green. Tolerates light shade.

This is Zephie’s 3rd year. just started finally growing, training up a chicken wired pole 8; and then will standard it onto a fabricless opened golf umbrella. Shi is in an east orientation, protected by steps and house and large bush about 10’ away. newspaper and chips and mild fertilizer. Now,I have a vision that is beginning to be realized.

Zephirine Drouhin is growing along the side of my deck. I love that this rose is thornless! I get a huge flush in the spring and scattered blooms throughout the summer and fall. The flowers smell amazing! Mine has been very healthy, even on the north side of the house in a humid climate. This has been season 3, and the leaves still look great.

Zephirine is a gorgeous old rose that grows with unprecedented vigor. Her blooms are vibrant and gorgeous against her dark foliage. I have two climbing my orchard fence and they catch the eye of everyone who sees them!

I came here to buy this rose again after my move. In my last yard in Utah she shot right up in the sade and bloomed beautifully after a few years to aclimate. Now I live in southern Nevada and I am going to give her a shady spot again as even full shade here gets tons of UV. My first was gift from my now departed mother so this rose is very personal to me.

This is truly one of the great old roses for shade. It is carefree, grows like crazy and gives off fragrance and gorgeous colored blossoms without fail every year. Who could be without it?
