A quaint, compact old garden rose with small, rich rose pink flowers on bushy, branching growth. The 1″ blooms carry a surprisingly robust scent. A classic in any old garden rose collection.
Spong has the sweetest little blooms. It is usually very healthy. I don’t see much, if any, black spot. The growth is upright and mannerly. Mine tends to get covered up a bit by another OGR so it may be a bit smaller than normal size but it seems happy and is very easy to care for. I highly recommend Spong for anyone wanting to give some of the older roses a try.
