Damask – Shrub (Fairmount Cemetery Roses, origin unknown)
Austin Pink Damask stands as a thriving living monument in Denver’s Fairmount Cemetery. Blooms are clear pink and very double with a moderate fragrance. Foliage is typically dark blue-green for a damask. Some repeat blooming later in the season.

This is a wonderful rose, tightly double, with significant fragrance and a prominent eye. Despite its lack of provenance, it is outstanding. I’m only at the start of its second year, so I can’t tell if it repeats, but I can attest that it grows robustly and flowers enthusiastically for its first flush.

It’s relatively new to my garden but I love the shape of the bush and the one bloom it gave me this summer was gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing it this coming summer!

This lovely rose just keeps going in our unenthusiastic Pacific Northwest summers. Always with new blooms, always looking beautiful and performing well. Puts up with our cold and dreary winter as well, too.
