Baronne Edmond de Rothschild

Rated 5.00 out of 5 based on 1 customer rating
(1 customer review)

$25.95

Hybrid Tea (Meilland, France, 1968)

Featuring alluring bi-colored blooms of crimson red that open to deep pink with a silvery reverse. Blooms are very large flowers (up to 5″) and very full with a high center. One of the most fragrant roses in the greenhouse with a strong rose perfume.  The shrub is clean with leathery, glossy green foliage. An excellent cut flower.  Will need winter protection.

Of the roses I received, this one was the least rooted and came with the roots exposed. The whole plant would wobble in the pot. I added soil until I was ready to transplant and it mostly solved the problem. It was slow to start, with little growth, compared to members in its cohort but as soon as I transplanted into a 3 gallon, boom, it took off!
It quickly flushed out and gave 2 new buds to bloom. It is on the thorny side and has beautiful glossy leaves that glisten after rainfall. No disease issues and completely clean while others had powdery mildew.
