Grandiflora (Tom Carruth, United States, 2013)
Large buds burst open to very double old-fashioned flowers of deep velvet purple overlaid with a wisp of smoke…a purple haze for the garden. Strongly scented with a combination of clove and lemony citrus blossom. Deep green leaves cover the plant and compliment the remarkably colored flowers. Tempting color, seductive fragrance and old rose form makes this a real winner!

Twilight zone has one of the parent as ebb tide, the most purple rose I have! Twilight zone has more petals than ebb tide and also blooms in bunches! I think it’s a prolific bloomer!

Beautiful blooms on this one! Love the purple color! First year rose for me in 6B so can’t say too much about it other than so far so good and no issues with plant health!

This rose is absolutely beautiful but really struggles to thrive in my zone 5 garden. I’m lucky to see 2-3 blooms a season. That being said, the color is magnificent so I keep babying it to enjoy for another season.

Twilight Zone is a beautiful dark purple rose that looks just like the pictures in spring and fall. During the hot Arizona summer months, even in 110°F heat, it keeps blooming, though the flowers are a bit lighter in color. It’s still gorgeous, and the clusters often have eight or more buds at once, so there’s always something to enjoy. TZ has been a wonderful addition to my garden,

Twilight is a deep purple stunner with a great fragrance. Bought her for my husband whose fav color is purple, but she has joined my favorite list now. Northwestern NM/87401/5,400′

Zone 6b/Missouri – Gorgeous unique burgundy purple color, especially in cooler temperatures. It seems to be finally taking off this year after struggles last two seasons. I think partly from a dog regularly peeing on it. Lol

I bought this rose last year, and it grew really well but had no blooms. We got down to 20 below this past winter, and Twighlight Zone took of as soon as it warmed up. It’s no, in it’s second year, my biggest rose and has clusters of blooms. None have quite opened yet, and I am anxious to see the flower. I am considering buying another because of its vigor.

I’m in the PNW in Zone 8b, and Twilight Zone has been a slow grower for me. I purchased it in August 2025, and it was definitely on the small side. I reached out to HCR, and Megan was very gracious about my concerns. (12/10: amazing customer service.) I’m rating Twilight Zone a 4 because it isn’t growing as fast as the other roses I purchased from HCR, but it also hasn’t given up yet. I’m babying it over the winter, along with a few other small roses that aren’t quite ready for prime time. I will try to update next year.
