One of the oldest roses in commerce, York and Lancaster, is a historical reference to the 15th century War of the Roses in England. This rose features delicate, double, light pink blooms with a darker pink striping or mottling. Can be on the testy side in the garden but is hardy in most areas.

I’ve had this rose well over a decade. It’s tough and winter hardy in z5/6. It’s always just been pink for me, no multicolor blooms, but the blooms smell heavenly and I like the informal look. It’s very thorny.
