Ebb Tide

$27.95

Floribunda (Tom Carruth, United States, 2004)

Smoky, deep purple blooms are very full with an old-fashioned form. Large clusters of flowers repeat well all season and have a strong clove fragrance. Semi-glossy, dark green foliage on an upright bush that reaches 2 to 4 feet high and wide. A great rose for cutting and enjoying.

Nice size and even though UPS took several days longer than originally stated, they were still nice and moist. well packed. nice description card telling size, etc. this is very helpful when planting. I’ll definitely come back for more.

Really liking this deep purple blossom! Grew nicely and bloomed off and on all up to frost!

Ebb Tide has been a steady splash of gorgeousness in my garden for the last five years and I’m so happy with it. It’s got fantastic repeat and the fragrance is just delightful. It’s survived zone 4 just fine and comes back better and better every year.

First year rose review, spring 2023, zone 5b. From this order I purchased: Princess Charlene de Monaco, Koko Loko, Reine Des Violettes, Firefighter, Top Cream, Bolero, Ebb Tide, Apricot Twist, and Quicksilver. Quicksilver wasn’t ready by the early ship date so I switched it with Bliss. The order was packed well and shipped quickly. Everything arrived healthy and I was very happy with this experience (first order from High Country and first time ordering band roses). I kept them in an unheated greenhouse until June, then moved out to a raised bed that I had planned to grow them out for the first year or so until I move them out to their permanent spot. It’s my second year growing roses and first experience with bands. Although the plants are small I was able to try more varieties within my budget. Ebb Tide was also slow to start, but in the later half of the year started to produce clusters of beautiful purple flowers. It also had the most blackspot of the new roses, although not bad enough in my opinion to not recommend it. I love the color, so I will still give it 5 stars.

Beautiful color, but didn’t grow much at all and wasn’t very disease resistant for me in Western North Carolina.

Love the color ,blooms in bunches and a healthy plant for me! I have it for 3 years and it’s the most purple rose I have apart from twilight zone and twilight zone has one of the parent as ebb tide so you can imagine!

This rose has a beautiful color I love so much. My little boy picked this rose as his favorite.

One of my top 5 roses in my garden of 120 roses. Paired with Julia Child it is stunning in my LSU Tigers themed bed.

This is great! My neighbor is a LSU grad and I think I may have plant a LSU garden for him!

Ebb Tide flowers young and definitely has unusual purple flowers, but I can’t say that its a vigorous plant thus far after 3 years. It does make quite a few flowers despite its smallish size, and will set hips as well. It is susceptible to blackspot in rainy weather here.

Ebb Tide is the darkest rose I own. It has a beautiful, smokey, dark purple bloom that smells amazing! Highly recommend!

  11. MOUSUMI DUTTA

Absolutely stunning. Vigorous performer. color more dusky in Fall than in summer. disease resistant. Highly recommend

This rose arrived healthy and has already bloomed several times. One of the top roses in my garden.

My Ebb Tide is still young, and it’s not a profuse bloomer (yet?) but its flowers have strong scent and beautiful form. Fragrance is old rose with hints of clove. Petals start out deep mauve and lighten as they age. No issues with black spot in my humid 7a garden.

I bought this rose back in 2021 and was immediately disappointed in the color. I thought it would be a deeper purple based on the pictures. I thought it had died after 2 years but a Dr. Huey has popped up in its place. So just be forewarned I received a grafted rose, the color was not as expected and it died after 2 years.

Hi Christina. I am so sorry hear about your experience with Ebb Tide. I am wondering if maybe we made a mistake and sent the wrong variety? Ebb Tide can be a little lighter than some of the promotional pictures you see out there. The color is definitely deeper purple in cooler conditions. I’m thinking maybe it was wrong from the start, because we don’t grow any grafted roses. I don’t even have Dr. Huey in the nursery. If you’d like to give it another try, I’m happy to send a replacement. Just let me know.
