Shrub (Riverside Cemetery Rose, origin unknown)
This interesting rose was discovered growing on the grave of young Beulah Blakey, who passed away in 1890 at the age of 8. This loving tribute has survived the years on minimal care in tough environment. The Riverside Cemetery plant is about 2 feet tall, but I suspect it may grow a little larger in your yard. Clusters of deep pink blooms are accented by glossy rich green foliage.

Janice Grinyer –
Hardy rose, can easily withstand no winter cover in SE Montana. Now easily 4 feet on the east side of the house under an eave, she consistently blooms during our hot Montana summers. A solitary stem in a crystal bud vase looks so elegant- a frequent sight in our house during the summer!
Roxie Harrington –
Beulah opens in a cool spiral pattern, and last year (her third year in my garden), she bloomed twice! She sent up two tall canes at summer’s end, so I expect she will be stretching a bit wider this year…this is a wonderful rose, and I love to wish her a good morning, like I imagine her mom did so long ago.
