I have lots and lots of different kinds of roses in my yard, so I take lots and lots of pictures. When I show rose pictures to others, City of York is one that people consistently stop and say “Ooooo!” over. There is something about it that makes it incredibly beautiful in a simple, understated way. This is a “polite” climber, doing its thing to grow and thrive, but not trying to take over the world (or the trellis) from all the other plants. I absolutely love this rose.

I ordered two of these for planting this spring. As it turned out, they were not ready to ship at the end of April & were held, in the words of your email, “to ensure their root development and safe shipment.” When I received them on June 5, I was a little worried, they were less than 3″ tall & the root “ball” came nowhere near to filling the pot. But they settled in quickly & are both quite healthy – one of them has already bloomed! I look forward to seeing them in their full glory next year!
