Floribunda – Parfuma Collection (Tim Hermann Kordes, Germany, 2003)

Like all of the Parfuma roses, Summer Romance is absolutely drenched in a classic rose aroma with fresh apple and spice.  Large, dark pink blooms are cupped and quartered giving them a full, voluminous look. Vigorous and bushy in nature with dense, slightly glossy, dark green foliage.

Excellent disease resistance! It handles my tough environment in Western North Carolina very well! It is also a very beautiful rose!

Summer romance is such a gorgeous rose. Her blooms are full and fragrant and she keeps a nice, tidy habit. If you’re looking for a healthy pink rose, definitely consider summer romance!

I added this one to my garden in 2024. It put on some good growth in spite of a drought and gave me some lovely blooms. It survived a couple of freezes (0-13 F) over the winter with very little dieback and is already covered in buds for the first flush. Exceptionally healthy rose. I will be adding another to my garden very soon. It is a must have.

I planted Summer Romance in my zone 6b garden during spring 2025 as a very small plant. In its first year, it has been resilient. I thought I’d lose it after a squirrel uprooted it, but I caught the problem in time, and the rose persisted to put on amazing foliar growth and set several clusters of blooms. Even in its first year, this variety produced blooms with a high petal count. The light pink bloom color is also nice. This variety didn’t repeat its blooming as much as I expected, but that might be due to the uprooting stress it had shortly after it was planted.

This rose is very healthy in my Virginia (zone 7) garden. Literally no blackspot. I do not spray, so health is very important to me. This season was its first year and I only got 2 blooms (they were gorgeous though!) however, it has easily doubled in size. I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs in year 2!

Summer Romance is worth the wait. It takes its time to bloom, but when it does, the soft, delicate flowers are absolutely breathtaking.
