Damask (Unknown origins, Netherlands, before 1732)
Clusters of light pink blooms with intense golden stamens age to white with an intense fragrance. The shrub is graceful with grey-green foliage on a vigorous, upright shrub up to 6 feet tall.
This is one of my favorite old roses. It turns into a very large arching shrub covered in silky paper thin blossoms with lovely fragrance. I’ve had it for about 25 years and it survives through thick and thin, and puts up new canes when old ones die. It does need plenty of room but is so delightful it’s worth making space for it.

It is doing good in Utah, still getting established. One time bloom but it is worth it.
