I ordered 2 of these…and a Belindas Blush…70 bucks! they are doing abdolutely nothing..they look terrible..the Blush has put on new growth tho. I emailed High Country for advice snd no respinse in the last 3 weeks…very disappointed as the price is very high for such a small plant!

Hi Lisa – I am so sorry for your experience with High Country Roses. We’ve been stretched thin the past couple of weeks an communication has suffered. I am sorry. As for the plants, I guarantee all the plants for a full year and I am happy to replace or refund you for them. Generally, Madame Alfred is a very vigorous grower and I’m sure we can get this headed in the right direction.
      Thank you,
      Matt Douglas

I am still fairly new to roses. I just added this to my garden last year and waited to post any sort of review until I got a feel for the plant.
Overall, I am very happy. The plant arrived healthy and did well when added to my garden. I planted another two plants at the same time of different varieties to get a feel for what will do best in my zone and soil composition.
This plant has outperformed the others purchased at the same time and is set to have a good start to this year, where I can really start seeing blooms! Would definitely recommend.

    Hannah Ringler – November 13, 2023

Slow to take off, but it’s entirely my fault – I abused this one terribly. Didn’t plant for months, put it in a shady spot next to a tree, provided with no fertilizer or pesticides of any kind. And yet, she’s now sending up twelve foot tall canes over the tree’s crook as I had wanted and generally doing fantastic. A strong rose from a great seller.

Sumptuous fragrance. I have this in a somewhat shaded location. Each bloom is exceptional because the white color has an overlay of a kind of beige tone. Very vigorous.. Responds well to pruning.

    Christine Pittman – January 30, 2024

This rose is planted with Zephirine Drouhin’ surrounding a raised deck. I planted them both around 30 years ago and they are all going strong. They’ve had fires, floods, 115f+ summers, some light snow, extreme drought conditions and even dogs digging. They are both in excess of 10 feet at their happiest. They prefer to stay tall. Very dependable bloomer. Huge bloom for 2 months in the spring and then moderate rebloom through the year. Pretty good at self cleaning. Have not noticed mildew or pest issues. Not much thorn on the canes. I throw some fish fertilizer at it once a year and it’s not fussy for care.
I would highly recommend this rose but, I do suggest a good mulch to protect it as it’s not a deep rooted like some.

    Ernie DeMarie – March 10, 2024

This rose grew fast for me and is now a very large bush. The pretty flowers are fragrant and appear in a main flush but some appear later on. It is sensitive to blackspot here in NY in rainy summers but still is a vigorous large plant.
