Prim and Proper is one of the most stunning roses I have ever seen. She has long, graceful canes and eye catching blooms that demand attention. Her delicate floral beauty and quintessential protective thorns harness the true spirit of a perfect rose. She is also a survivor, coming back more beautiful than ever even after the harshest Colorado winters. She is absolutely my favorite rose.

  2. Matthew Beckley (verified owner)

Not going to lie, I was very disappointed when I opened my box of roses and Prim and Proper was literally 1 5inch stem about a quarter of a pencil thickness. Just 1. But I have it planted and its slowly growing, and it produced 1 single flower from that tiny stem which opened today, I cut it off and the fragrance is complex and beautiful. I will pamper this plant and I look forward to many canes in the future. I told a couple friends that they need to get it too, I will wait to see when it comes back in stock and will buy more for gifts. The Rest of my Order (Altisimo, Fruity Petals, Tangerine Skies and Minnie Pearl) was what I would expect from own root and totally acceptable. It reminded me of the days of going and seeing John and Louise Clements at heirloom when they sold the small pots and the tiny cuttings. Those roses are still thriving 35 years later and I am happy to find a new place who is carrying on that tradition. I believe this rose will thrive and its fragrance on one bloom is enough for the 5 stars. Bravo to the hybridizer!
