Hybrid Tea (Francis Meilland, France, 1935)

This world famous hybrid tea rose was introduced at the end of World War II. We grow it on its own roots for those who have difficulties with grafted roses! The classic double blooms are shades of yellow edged in pink. Growth is upright and vigorous, reaching 5 to 6 feet, with large, glossy dark green leaves.

I saw this rose in the Betty Ford Gardens in Vail, CO, and I just had to have it. The color was soft and strong at the same time, and it captured my attention. The plant I received last week seems healthy, and I’m hoping for wonderful results in the spring!

My parents has had this rose at my childhood home for over 30 years. It gives out enormous blooms that does not drop! I bought a Peace rose for my own property last year. Super healthy in zone 6!

Good, healthy plant. It doesn’t seem to like pruning, and as long as I’m very light with the pruning, it does ok. The flowers are so delicately beautiful, with lovely form and the fragrance is everything a rose should smell like.
