Shrub (Andy Vanable, USA 2018)
Large clusters of repeat-blooming blooms flowers late in season (even after the first frosts).
From the Hybridizer: Named in memory of George Oliva Bilodeau who was killed on Long Island in the late 1960’s. George’s daughter, Jacqui, who was very young at the time, missed out on having a childhood with her own mother and father through the loss of her father, was instrumental in getting this rose from a tiny seedling to the full-sized rose he has become.

I sat for a week looking at Georges < 1/4” pink bud. It popped open yesterday, a 1” pink and white button. Adorable and loved.

This rose is beautiful, he blooms in large sprays. Still waiting for him to really take off.

Grows so quickly. Beautiful sprays. Very hardy and disease resistant.

Of my many roses, George Oliva is in my top 3 favorites. It’s very healthy with little to no blackspot which is rare in my high humidity, zone 7. The blooms are small but bloom in large clustered sprays twice the size of my hand. The blooms continue through the season late into the fall. The habit is graceful – bushy, which looks ideal in a cottage style garden, but also works well in a more formal setting if looking to add a touch of softness.
