Semi-double flowers of violet crimson open flat to reveal showy yellow stamens. Very fragrant, once blooming in early summer. Lovely fall foliage and hips on an upright bush reaching 5 to 6 feet in height.

I received this in March 2021 with leaves. A very nice looking plant, but the single stem was a bit wobbly. Within a month and a half the leaves turned to crispy dry and fell off and the single stem turned black.

I planted this rose in 2020 and it’s now a beautiful, big, healthy shrub with a gorgeous spring bloom. Highly recommended!!
Palustris –
I’ve grown this rose for well over a decade and it is a tough rose able to thrive growing in a mixed border of perennials, shrubs and roses. This is also an excellent rose for this purpose since the Albas, Centifolias and Damasks tend to be white to pink in color. Some darker colors are needed to add interest to the landscape and La Belle Sultane adds a punch of great color.

My plant is very young but is growing well and blooming. The color is simply outstanding. I have it on a Ledge with a mix of rugosas, heirloom roses, albas, and Canadian roses and there is no color like it. I’ve wanted this rose for years and am just stunned by how beautiful the blossoms are!
