Mary –
Complicated is the first rose to bloom in Spring-Summer for me. It has a cheery effect on everyone. It has good hips. Vigorous, but not difficult to keep under control. Good for slight shade, naturalistic planting, hedgerow. I mis mine. A neighbor killed it. Malicious.

I bought this elsewhere, but can tell you it’s a beautiful large shrub with a vase-like structure and canes that are strong and tall and even look pleasing in the winter. A mid-early once-bloomer, the single flowers are large and lightly scented. Has hips in fall. I forgive the once blooming for all these reasons.
