Climbing Miniature (Ralph Moore, United States, 1969)
Small, deep red flowers appear in showy clusters in early summer and continue well into fall. Vigorous growth can be nicely espaliered or trained along a low fence. Height to 5 feet.
Magic Dragon is awesome! This little miniature held the biggest surprise in its first year. I planted it within a collection of 14 climbing roses on trellis panels. Each rose is a different type, and climbing mini Magic Dragon not only bloomed repeatedly, but it also climbed the highest of any of the 14 — including 12 HCR roses and two roses that came in 3-gallon pots from a local nursery! In other words, it reached its 5-7 foot maximum length in its first season, which was delightful. This rose has small, bright red blossoms that pop against the foliage. It is a delight.

Magic Dragon really is Magical! On year 2 mine grew like crazy! 2 6-7 ft canes but the little red blooms are just STUNNING! I adore!
