About High Country Roses
Yes, we only grow roses. Since 1970 our family has stuck to what we know, Roses!

All of our roses are grown on their Own Roots. We induce rooting on stem sections by a process called asexual vegetative propagation. Even the roses we bring in from third party growers, for licensing reasons, are grown this way. You can purchase with confidence, knowing that the rose you are buying is 100% genetically true from root to bloom.

The majority of our roses are considered 1 year old plants that were rooted the previous summer. We do hold some stock over from year to year and plants may be as old as three seasons. We try to ship the oldest plants first.

All of our roses are grown and shipped in 1 quart (5”) square pots. Depending on the time of year and variety, plants are generally 8 to 12 inches tall. The number of canes on a plant will also vary by variety but may be as few as one. Learn more about our Own Root Roses: https://www.highcountryroses.com/our-own-root-roses/
Our primary restock date for the website is January 10th prior to the spring shipping season that begins on March 1st. We will also have minor inventory restocks in May and August. Neither of these dates is a complete restock and is generally comprised of varieties that were not ready at the previous date.
You can sign up for a Back in Stock notifications on the variety’s product page. Just scroll down below the description and select a size – 1 quart. This will open an email box that you can fill in. You will receive a confirmation email within 10 minutes asking you to confirm the subscription. We will then send you an automated email when the variety is available for sale.

We let you decide the timing that is best for your delivery. Our official recommendation is that you choose a date around your last frost date in the spring or 6 weeks prior to a hard freeze in the fall. That said, many of our customers choose to receive their plants earlier or later than the advised dates. The choice is yours.

When you order, you are required to select a shipping date to complete the checkout process. The date selected is the date your order will depart our greenhouse and does not include transit time. There is a minimum of 48 hours until the first available shipping date that may be selected. In spring and early fall, lead times may be increased due to an influx of orders. If you have a specific date you would like your order sent, we suggest ordering as early as possible in the season.

If you shipping to the United States (including Territories and areas serviced by the US Postal Service) or Canada the answer is yes. Unfortunately, we are not able to export beyond these regions at this time.
If you are shipping to Canada, there are a couple of stipulations to be aware of. First, all shipments into Canada require a Phytosanitary Certificate that costs $110 USD. This is in addition to the cost of shipping by UPS standard international (a 7-day service) and any applicable taxes and duties. Secondly, our Canadian shipments will depart the nursery together around the end of May, and the end of August, each year. We do this to accommodate the quarantine and inspection process required to obtain the Phytosanitary Certificate.
The website is not set up to process Canadian orders. You will need to contact us here with the quantities and varieties you are looking for. Also include your shipping address for an accurate quotation.
