Mary Cookson –
I planted this rose over 25 years ago, when I first moved into my home. It’s a lovely, lovely rose. It has dealt with drought, torrential rains, heavy snows, deep freezes and several years of neglect while I was busy raising children. It’s still healthy, it’s still beautiful. The bees love the flowers, and I believe the birds love the hips (someone does, because they do tend to disappear by winter’s end). It has thrown up some suckers, but hey, that means more plants! And it has a really beautiful fragrance.
