Abby –
During this first summer with Robusta, two things have stood out to me: the blooms show up well from a distance, & it recovered well after not getting enough water while I was away unexpectedly. Looking forward to seeing what it does in coming years!

I love this rose! Starting in the early spring it’s covered with clusters of brilliant red flowers throughout the summer. My 2 year rose is now 4ft. tall and 5ft. wide with arching canes. Robusta is a good name for it, as this rose can handle our very challenging climate: a mild early winter with brutal cold and strong icy winds in the late winter and early spring.

Planted two last year and they are blooming this year already, after a VERY dry summer last year! I’m right on the new edge of zone 5 so I protected it over the (very mild for us) winter and there seemed to be no die-back. Blooms are beautiful with a light fruity fragrance, but definitely a dark pink, not red.
