Gallica (Gendron, France, 1826)
Camaieux’s striking fully double blooms are rich blend violet-red and creamy white striping. Blooms are abundant and accented by a sweet scent. Camaieux is often described as one of the best stripped Gallica’s out there. Shade tolerant and exceptionally hardy but does love to sucker so make sure it’s got room to roam.
Pronounced: kah-mah-yuh – from French Rose Names by Diana Bellucci

This is a great little rose, very hardy with lovely blooms. It spreads by suckers but that only makes it more abundant. I’ve had it for years and love to see it bloom.
