Love it or hate it (and their are plenty of gardeners on each side), Green roses were first cultivated in the mid 18th century. They are true roses, but unlike other varieties of roses, they don’t have petals in their bloom. The blooms are comprised of layers of sepals which are green anyway. The Green Rose is thought to be a descendant of Old Blush which is a two hundred year old form of Rosa chinensis.

The rose that “blooms” the most in my garden, it’s in a pretty shady place and it hasn’t slowed it down at all. I ordered it to add texture to my flower arrangements but it draws a lot of interest as well

It has a strong fragrance that I found similar to black pepper. A unique bloom to it.
