The fragrance on this rose is 10/10. It’s spectacular. Winter hardiness is 8/10. Some pruning required in spring but it doesn’t die back completely. The bloom form is excellent and so is the repeat. It does well in a vase too.

    LUCY CORNWELL – December 10, 2023

So Sweet!! I’ve only had her less than a year but the first bloom let me know how perfect this rose is. It has a strong, classic scent and the color is deep, cool rosy red, not a red-red. Seems to be tolerating my less than ideal zone 5 winter so far and grew well in its first summer.

  3. Rated 5 out of 5

    Mary Cookson – December 10, 2023

This rose is a bloom machine. It has fast repeat and just covers itself with gorgeous blooms, over and over. It grows into a nice, rounded shrub, and is incredibly healthy in my zone 7, humid, clay-soil garden. I have this rose in the front of the border where I can stop to admire it often.

    forestress (verified owner) – January 26, 2024

Mary is right – Sweet spirit is a bloom machine – and they are big blooms too. The bush itself is healthy whereas others get blackspot, and grew so much in a year. Totally surprised me, in a good way.

  5. Rated 5 out of 5

    liliasb – December 12, 2024

My healthiest Meilland. One of my healthiest roses, really. I don’t have to do anything with her, and she blooms steadily with a wonderful fragrance.

5 glorious stars for this beautiful and healthy rose! Our hot and steamy weather (zone 7b) was not a problem for Sweet Spirit‐I am very impressed with it’s scent too!
