Grandiflora (W. Kordes & Sons, Germany 1994)

If you grow this rose, you will quickly understand why it is one of the most award wining varieties of the century.  Unique copper and gold blooms absolutely cover this plant and the color resists fading.  Flowers come in clustered bouquets with a moderate fragrance.  A favorite for cutting.  True to it’s namesake, South Africa is tolerant of hot and dry conditions.

One of my top performers! The pictures don’t do this rose justice. It has handled pests and heat so well, has beautiful continuous blooms, and is easy to care for. My favorite yellow rose!

    lahhayward – September 18, 2023

I LOVE this rose. It is an amazing bloomer, and the color is amazing. Even if I don’t get around to dead heading it, it will still bloom. It flowers all season, and there is always color on my plants. I am so glad I picked this rose to line my driveway.

Pretty disease resistant so far! Mine is only a year old, so I can’t wait to see it next season.

Prolific cluster rose! Amazing color! This one won’t stop blooming in the hottest of the summer in Seattle!

This rose wasn’t at the top of my wishlist but has won me over! I’m so glad I bought this one the color variance is so beautiful! Can’t wait until it matures.

Vibrant yellow and looks absolutely stunning. Healthy plant in 6b/7a.

Everyone who I have given some of S.Africa roses has been awed and delighted, even incredulous over the color of super saturated orange with a fresh fragrance. I expect armloads of blooms next year.

  8. Rated 5 out of 5

    Mary Cookson – December 10, 2023

The perfect golden-yellow rose! It blooms often and is super healthy. I made the mistake of planting a Crazy Love dahlia next to this rose, and the dahlia got huge and tried to swallow up my rose bush. South Africa did not let that dahlia win, though. It got a little less sun, but still bloomed and bloomed.
