I bought these gloves for two reasons, obviously for pruning roses but also to give a first line of defense for rattlesnake bites. So far I can say they are great for pruning roses and gently handling some spiny cactus though you’re better off to wrap cactus in newspaper or tough paper feed sacks and then handle. As for roses, they have been great, provide good protection even from the thorniest stems and are flexible and comfortable to use. Also good for yanking weeds under roses. Very happy with them.
