Gallica (Jean-Pierre Vibert, France 1834)

Smaller (2″) rosettes of crimson pink with darker mottling absolutely cover this stately gallica in the early summer. The bush is true to the class, standing upright to 4 feet and spreading.

Pronounced: krah-mwah-zee pee-ko-tay – from French Rose Names by Diana Bellucci

Definitely falls into the 1800s version of crimson. I would call it more of a mottled pink rose. The bush is well mannered.
