Hybrid Tea (Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II, Germany, 1935)

This classic Kordes Hybrid Tea sports large crimson blooms tinged with shades of purple throughout the season.  Flowers have a classic shape, are very fragrant and are suitable as cut roses.  The young leaves have a purple tint and turn dark green.

This rose is planted at the base of an oak tree. It was made a home for a colony of black ants. Yet it grew and bloomed even as a first year rose. The fragrance is amazing. This is one tough rose in zone 8a.
