Floribunda (Carruth, United States, 2009)

Big pointed buds swirl open to show off double, high-centered blooms in seductive shades of peach, coral and salmon. Aging in the sun reveals deeper tones of orange, scarlet and burgundy. Strong, long stems are great for cutting, and deep green, glossy leaves stay clean and spotless due to very good overall disease resistance.

I received this rose about the middle of May of this year. The plant was packed beautifully and survived the trip from CO to NY without any damage. It transplanted well and now, in mid July, it has almost tripled in size and is blooming. The picture does not do this rose justice. As the bud opens, the color deepens into a brilliant orange. It has been humid a lot in this area, but there is no disease and no black spot. This is a high quality rose from a high quality seller.

This rose is an unsung hero in my garden. The first to bloom, always in bloom, mildly fragrant and cooler weather, also typically blooms for me until November. This is partially due to where it’s planted, but it really is an amazing rose!

Colorific varies in color in my 5a Colorado garden depending on the average temperatures. Sometimes it’s more orange and sometimes it’s more red. It is always beautiful, with multiple hues and big blossoms. I’ve had canes occasionally break from high winds and the neighbor kids’ balls bouncing over the fence. A bit of support this year protected the remaining canes from the winds. (Nothing gets adequate protection from the kids.) Colorific blooms until late in the season. It’s a favorite and has been for the 5 years it has been in our garden.

Breathtaking! Every bloom is different. How it morphs, how HUGE the blooms are, and how the tiny 1 yr canes support the giant blooms boggles my mind. This flower bush is a super secret because I can’t believe I’ve never seen this beauty before. I wish I could add pics. Only had her a few months but WOW!! High Five High Country Roses!!
