Rosa pteracantha

$18.95

Species (Discovered E.H. Wilson, China, c. 1890)

Found at the base of the Himalayan Mountains in China, Rosa pteracantha is in its full glory without a bloom on the plant. Know as the “Wingthorn Rose”, enormous razor like red thorns glow in the sun light to warn off even the most persistent predator. Lightly fragrant single white flowers set against ferny foliage complement the plant in late spring. Beautiful red hips follow the blooms in fall. Drought tolerant, disease resistant and pollinator friendly.
